Most of our archaeological sites - incontestable tokens of our past, date back to the prehistoric times, inviting every modern “Ulysses” to wander around and explore them. Migration land of numerous Hellenic tribes and foreign invaders, the region holds countless cultural treasures that will definitely excite all visitors.

Explore and discover at a short distance from the city of Igoumenitsa, our impressive past by visiting our recently built Archaeological Museum of Igoumenitsa (since 2009), the Roman Villa in Ladochori, the Venetian Castle of Igoumenitsa (15^th century), the Fortified Settlement of Lygia (identified with the ancient city “Toroni”) and the Tower of Ragio (ottoman period). Don’t miss a visit to the Ancient Settlement of Vrachonas and the ruins of the prehistoric citadel in Sivota, the Ancient Elina – Dymocastro in Perdika, the Ottoman Castle and the Traditional Settlement in Margariti (Ancient Eleatis) and of course the Archaeological site of Fanoti-Doliani, center of the Thesprotian tribe of Fanotians in Parapotamos.
